Tim Ryan Can’t Decide if He Wants to Run for Governor, but We All Know Where He Stands on Abortion

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Ohio Right to Life Responds to Tim Ryan’s Gubernatorial Race Indecision

COLUMBUS, OH – Ohio Right to Life Executive Director Carrie Snyder issued the following statement regarding former Congressman Tim Ryan’s self-imposed deadline to enter the 2026 Ohio gubernatorial race and his claim that he needs more time to decide:

“As former Congressman Tim Ryan faces his self-imposed deadline for deciding whether to enter the 2026 Ohio gubernatorial race and now claims he needs more time, Ohioans should remember one thing: no amount of extra days or weeks will erase his extreme pro-abortion record.

Throughout his time in Congress, Ryan has been a radical advocate for unrestricted abortion, supporting legislation that restricts states’ ability to limit the procedure and opposing the overturning of Roe v. Wade. He has refused to endorse any meaningful restrictions on abortion, even after 20 weeks, when unborn children can feel pain.

Ryan voted against the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would have banned abortions after 20 weeks. He co-sponsored and supported bills like the Women’s Health Protection Act, aimed at limiting states’ ability to enact abortion regulations and ensuring abortion on demand.

Tim Ryan’s priorities are clear: he thinks we should make it easier to end a family than to make raising one affordable. Ohio deserves better—leaders who protect life, not those who prioritize abortion extremism.”
