COLUMBUS, Ohio–Today, the Ohio Supreme Court ruled in two separate 5-2 decisions that Capital Care Network of Toledo is operating illegally in the state of Ohio and Ohio’s largest abortion clinic lacked standing to bring a lawsuit.
The following statement can be attributed to Mike Gonidakis, president of Ohio Right to Life.
Today, the Court affirmed what a vast majority of Ohioans expected – abortion should not be advanced at the expense of women’s health and safety.
Ohio Right to Life is grateful that a super majority of the Supreme Court agreed that this abortion clinic’s so-called safety proposal was preposterous at best. Clearly, the abortion clinic callously disregarded the health and safety of women with a ridiculous proposal to fly women out of state for emergency medical attention. The Court, like our pro-life government, got it right.
Now that this issue is settled, Ohio Right to Life expects that this abortion clinic in Toledo will be closed immediately by the Ohio Department of Health.
Founded in 1967, Ohio Right to Life, with more than 45 chapters and local affiliates, is Ohio’s oldest and largest grassroots pro-life organization. Recognized as the flagship of the pro-life movement in Ohio, ORTL works through legislation and education to promote and defend innocent human life from conception to natural death.
