COLUMBUS, Ohio–Today, House Bill 405, the Family Forward Initiative, was passed out of the Ohio Senate by a unanimous vote. This legislation, supported by Ohio Right to Life and spearheaded by Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague, Representative Jon Cross and Senator Dave Burke, would make low-interest loans available to adoptive families to help alleviate the costs associated with adoption.
Ohio Right to Life stands alongside Choosing Hope Adoptions, Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague, and Representative Jon Cross as the Family Forward Initiative is first announced in Fall 2019.
The following statement may be attributed to Mike Gonidakis, President of Ohio Right to Life:
“Ohio Right to Life is proud to see our great state take another step forward in making adoption more accessible to Ohio families. Cost is often a barrier to families looking to grow through adoption, and the Family Forward Initiative is a vital step. As pro-life and pro-family advocates, making adoption both accessible and affordable is one of our main priorities. Every child deserves the love and security of a family to call their own. Thanks to the passing of House Bill 405, more of Ohio’s children will know the love of a forever family and more Ohio families will be blessed by the beautiful gift of adoption.”
“Ohio Right to Life applauds Treasurer Sprague, Representative Cross and Senator Burke for their strong pro-life leadership on this vital piece of legislation.”
