COLUMBUS, Ohio— Yesterday, Governor Mike DeWine introduced his final proposed state budget that shows his continued commitment to pro-life policies that help women and children. These budget proposals include:
- Increasing pregnancy center funding by more than 40%;
- Continuing to support and fully fund the adoption grant program;
- Expanding home visiting programs to promote early prenatal care, infant health, and parenting education;
- Refundable child tax credit of up to one thousand dollars each year until the child is six for middle- and low-income families;
- Increasing access to childcare, and
- Funding availability for maternal and infant housing assistance.
“Thank you, Governor DeWine for your pro-life commitment and for supporting moms, babies, and families in Ohio,” said Ohio Right to Life Director of Communications, Afton Simonelli. “We have seen first-hand how successful the adoption grant program has been utilized and we are excited to see more families grow in Ohio. We’ve also seen how pregnancy centers are at the heart of many pregnancy journeys in Ohio. Ohio Right to Life looks forward to working with our Governor to enact this pro-life budget.”
