COLUMBUS, Ohio– Late last night, the Mason City Council voted 4-3 to approve an ordinance which designates their city a Sanctuary City for the Unborn. Mason is the 41st community in the U.S. and the second in Ohio to declare itself a Sanctuary City for the Unborn.

The following statement may be attributed to Mike Gonidakis, President of Ohio Right to Life:

Ohio Right to Life applauds the Mason City Council for taking a bold step to protect the most vulnerable in their community. The city of Mason has always been a safe place for people to live and grow. With tonight’s vote, Mason’s smallest citizens, unborn babies, are now safe as well. Mason has taken a stand against the violence of abortion and for the protection of women and babies. The people of Mason have made their voices heard: We protect lifePro-Life Ohio will continue to work tirelessly to empower communities across our state to become safe havens for defenseless babies and women in crisis.
