COLUMBUS, Ohio– Today, the U.S. Census Bureau announced that Ohio’s congressional delegation will be reduced from 16 to 15 starting next year. This is due to Ohio’s continued decline in population.
The following statement may be attributed to Mike Gonidakis, President of Ohio Right to Life:
Ohio Right to Life is disappointed to see our great state lose a congressional seat. This loss puts Ohio’s strong pro-life presence in our nation’s capital at risk. Recall a decade ago during the Ohio redistricting process, pro-life congressman Steve Austria’s seat was eliminated and our leaders created a seat for pro-choice congresswoman Joyce Beatty. Ohio Right to Life will work directly with our current leaders to ensure Ohio does not lose another pro-life congressional seat.
Founded in 1967, Ohio Right to Life, with more than 40 chapters and local affiliates, is Ohio’s oldest and largest grassroots pro-life organization. Recognized as the flagship of the pro-life movement in Ohio, ORTL works through legislation and education to promote and defend innocent human life from conception to natural death.
