COLUMBUS, Ohio–Today, Ohio Right to Life announced the start-up of a new affiliate, Ross County Right to Life, in Chillicothe. The organization will be led by Judy Harness, who is a community health nurse in Ross County. Harness graduated from The Ohio State University in 1985 with a BS in Nursing and in 2001 with a MS in Community Health Nursing. She has worked in several nursing positions, including more than 10 years in the field of labor and delivery and women’s healthcare.
“Ohio Right to Life is pleased to welcome Judy’s wealth of knowledge and experience to our statewide network of affiliates,” said Devin Scribner, executive director of Ohio Right to Life. “Her years of experience in caring for mothers and their unborn babies make her the ideal leader for Ross County Right to Life, and we are eager to see what she will accomplish in the coming months.”
Harness became a Creighton Model FertilityCare Practitioner in 2009 graduating from the Pope Paul VI Institute in Omaha, NE and is the Director of the Freedom FertilityCare Services of Columbus: Southern Ohio Satellite. She also serves as the Family Life Coordinator for St. Peter Catholic Church in Chillicothe where her duties include instruction and speaking on fertility and many pro-life topics. She is currently collaborating with Elizabeth’s Hope Pregnancy Resource Center to offer Abortion Pill Reversal services.
“Serving the Ohio Right To Life is an honor and a privilege,” said Harness. “The pro-life movement has made notable progress in the past 8 years in Ohio and I am so happy to finally put my talents into helping this organization find its voice in Ross County.”
Judy is the mother of four children, the grandmother of four children and the wife of her best friend Danny for 30 years this year. Judy enjoys reading, cooking, taking walks, and spending time with her family.
