COLUMBUS, Ohio– Yesterday, Ohio Right to Life PAC endorsed candidates overwhelmingly won their primary races. In notable wins, Representative George Lang and Representative Bill Reineke won their primary races for the Ohio Senate for the 4th and 26th Districts respectively. Additionally, Congressman Brad Wenstrup beat his primary challenger for U.S. Congress in the 2nd Congressional District. Former Representative Christina Hagan won an eight-way primary and will face off against pro-abortion Congressman Tim Ryan in the November election.
“The Ohio Right to Life PAC is proud of all our pro-life candidates and thrilled to be a part of their primary election victories,” said Mike Gonidakis, President of Ohio Right to Life. “Even in challenging times like these, Ohio’s pro-life movement keeps moving forward, and these strong candidates’ success is proof of that. The Ohio Right to Life PAC is proud to stand behind these pro-life champions and we will continue to endorse the best pro-life leaders to serve our state.”
In the last decade, twenty-three Ohio Right to Life initiatives have become law, and abortions have reached their lowest numbers since Roe v. Wade, dropping by 31%. Countless pro-life leaders in the legislature and beyond have worked tirelessly to achieve a culture of life in Ohio, like Senator Terry Johnson, who won his race in the 14th District, and Representative Scott Wiggam, who won his race in the 1st House District.
“One thing is clear, not even a pandemic will stop pro-life Ohioans from making their voices heard and electing the strongest pro-life candidates possible to protect Ohio’s most vulnerable,” said Gonidakis. “The Ohio Right to Life PAC is proud to be the premiere political voice for the voiceless in Ohio, and we will continue to stand behind pro-life candidates who will passionately protect the unborn. Ohio is pro-life and our voices at the ballot box this election have only reinforced that fact.”
Ohio Right to Life PAC’s official list of candidates who won their primaries will be available later today.
