Pro-Life Update: What Ohio Right to Life is Doing!
Even as the Stay at Home order continues, the fight for life persists! In the midst of this pandemic, we at Ohio Right to Life have been hard at work, tirelessly advocating for the protection of the most vulnerable in our society. Check out some highlights of what we’ve been up to.
Ohio Right to Life Puts Pressure on Planned Parenthood’s Abortion Business
Last month, after Planned Parenthood and Ohio’s other abortion facilities refused to comply with state orders to cease non-essential surgical procedures in order to preserve Ohio’s supplies of life-saving PPEs and flatten the curve of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ohio Right to Life stepped in to hold the abortion industry accountable. We sent a letter to the president of Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio, calling on her to comply with the state’s order and stop putting vulnerable lives at risk for the sake of their abortion business. We also urged the Ohio Department of Health to immediately enforce their Health Order and close down Ohio’s surgical abortion facilities. Our petition affirming abortion to be non-essential garnered over 800 signatures in a matter of two days!
Although Planned Parenthood was ultimately granted a preliminary injunction by activist Judge Michael Barrett after Attorney General Dave Yost’s request to reverse the judge’s Temporary Restraining Order was denied, Ohio Right to Life is grateful to have strong pro-life leaders like Dave Yost, who has our full support as he continues to fight hard to protect life in Ohio.
In these critical times where serious measures are being taken across every level of our society to preserve lives, it is imperative that Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry is held accountable. Ohio Right to Life will continue to put pressure on Planned Parenthood and ensure that one day, their abortion business is shut down for good.

Ohio Right to Life Issues Guidelines for End-of-Life Care
Earlier this month, Ohio Right to Life sent a letter to Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, urging him to continue employing his strong pro-life principles to guide Ohio during the COVID-19 pandemic. Along with the letter, Ohio Right to Life provided a comprehensive list of guiding principles for hospitals and healthcare providers, outlining proper triage and medical care to be followed during times of crisis.
With states like Washington already enacting discriminatory measures in their response COVID-19, and threats of shortages in life-saving equipment across the country, Ohio Right to Life will continue to urge Governor DeWine and Ohio’s medical community to ensure that all lives are protected and treated with dignity during the COVID-19 pandemic, regardless of age, ability, or any other determining factor.
