COLUMBUS, Ohio– This week, Governor Mike DeWine issued an executive order regarding the emergency adoption of rules by the Ohio Department of Health for S.B. 27, the Unborn Child Dignity Act. This action was in response to a lawsuit filed by Planned Parenthood that alleged that they could not comply with the law’s requirements due to the ODH not having yet established rules. Governor Mike DeWine signed the Unborn Child Dignity Act into law on December 30, 2020 and it was set to go into effect on April 6, 2021.
The following statement may be attributed to Mike Gonidakis, President of Ohio Right to Life:
“Ohio Right to Life is proud that Governor DeWine has once again stepped up to protect the dignity of those babies tragically killed by abortion. No baby’s broken body should be thrown into the trash. In Ohio, we bury our dead. Governor DeWine’s unwavering commitment to hold Planned Parenthood accountable brings us one step closer towards ensuring the dignity of every precious and irreplaceable human life.”
