COLUMBUS, Ohio– Today, the U.S. Senate voted to confirm Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court of the United States. Judge Barrett was confirmed by a 52-48 vote.

The following statement may be attributed to Mike Gonidakis, President of Ohio Right to Life:

“Today is a historic day for the pro-life movement. Judge Barrett, whose stellar credentials and incredible story of empowerment and conviction has inspired millions of Americans, will serve our country with distinction as a Justice. President Trump has once again proven his unwavering commitment to the pro-life cause by nominating a judge who so perfectly illustrates everything at the heart of the pro-life movement. Whether serving on the bench or raising her beautiful family, Judge Barrett is living proof that no woman has to choose between herself and her children. There is no limit to what women can achieve when empowered for life.”

“Judge Barrett’s confirmation is a victory for women everywhere. Since Roe v. Wade was decided, millions of women have been victimized by the legalization of abortion and the lives of countless unborn baby girls and boys ended under the guise of empowerment. With Judge Barrett’s confirmation, SCOTUS is poised to have a majority of justices who respect the fundamental right to life of every person. Judge Barrett’s confirmation begins the first chapter of a new future. The era of Roe v. Wade is swiftly drawing to a close. It’s time to begin building a post-Roe America.”
